How do you wash your swimwear?

If you want to enjoy your swimsuit for several seasons, it's important to wash and care for it correctly. Many people make the mistake of washing swimwear like regular clothes – and this wears out the material unnecessarily.

1. Rinse immediately in cold water

After use, the swimsuit should always be rinsed in cold water without soap . Salt, chlorine and sunscreen break down the elastane in the fabric and shorten the life of the swimsuit if it is not rinsed off.

2. Avoid too much detergent and fabric softener

Don't use too much detergent or fabric softener. Even small amounts can wear down the fabric and cause your swimsuit to lose its shape and elasticity more quickly. Instead, use only clean, cold water .

3. Wash by hand

Always wash your swimsuit by hand - never in the washing machine. The washing machine's rotation and spinning are hard on the delicate fibers.

4. Dry properly - and never in the sun

Do not wring the swimsuit. Instead, gently squeeze out the water with your hands or a towel. Then let it dry flat in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight and tumble drying , which can damage both the colors and shape.

5. Switch between swimsuits

If you bathe often, try wearing different swimsuits in turn. This will give the material time to “rest” and last longer.
